We have an immediate need for a full‑time Industrial Engineer of Supply Chain & Procurement - Buyer to work in our Houston office. The hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Industrial Engineer will report to the Procurement Manager and will perform the duties described below as an exempt employee.
Responsibilities- Promptly purchase all commodities and technical equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, controls, vessels, and piping) for the manufacturer of water and wastewater treatment systems
- Copy data, compile records, and prepare reports
- Operate computer terminal to input and retrieve data
- Purchase supplies and record purchases
- Enter all purchase orders and assist other departments when required
- Review requisitions
- Consult with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Prepare purchase orders or bid requests; receive and contact vendors to find out the status of an order
- Contact vendors with discrepancies in quantity and quality
- Interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues with needed purchase items
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Travel when needed to meet project requirements
- Obtain quotations from vendors for projects and review them
- Negotiate supplier prices and purchase commodities for projects expediting to meet due dates
- Approve supplier invoices, manage purchasing budgets, identify missing materials, and follow up on partial deliveries
- Maintain budget reports
- Handle nonconformance with the Quality department
- Knowledge of industrial water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred
- Prior purchasing experience with international vendors is desired
- Working knowledge of SAP

Qualifications / Experience- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Two (2) years of experience is preferred
- One (1) year of experience with SAP is preferred
