We are adding a Project Manager – Supply Chain to oversee all Supply Chain Activities, including Logistics, Inspection and Materials Management. In this role you will provide leadership and management for procurement of engineered equipment, subcontracts, professional services, commodities, permanent plant materials and small tools and supplies, and manage assigned category buyers, supply chain managers and other supply chain employees interfacing with engineering, estimating and site management.

Overview

The Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in comprehensive procurement services across construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation, water/wastewater, power, oil, gas and chemical, building, and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world‑class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price, delivered on schedule, and compliant with the client’s specifications and expectations.

Location

This position is based out of our Energy Corridor office at Dairy Ashford Road in Houston, TX. We do offer relocation assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and plan all aspects of the supply chain from pre‑bid through estimating to closeout.
  • Manage all supply‑chain disciplines on a project such as Material Control, Category Buying, Expediting, Supplier Quality Surveillance, Logistics and Material Management.
  • Monitor and oversee execution of the procurement buy‑out.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with equipment vendors, material vendors, professional service providers and subcontractors; consult with corporate attorneys and senior management to minimize project and corporate risk while maintaining commercial competitiveness.
  • Coordinate activities with Category Lead Buyers and plan manpower.
  • Mentor and train supply‑chain staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • Locate and assist in the evaluation and qualification of vendors for materials and equipment, subcontractors, and professional service providers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement and contract‑management instructions, policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to assist in analyzing market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims.
  • Review purchase orders and subcontractor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Communicate and enforce supply‑chain policies & procedures to project teams.
  • Responsible for projections, financial planning, expediting, delivery schedules and project supply‑chain reporting.
Site-specific Responsibilities
  • Implement and oversee project mobilization activities, including office set‑up and site general arrangement.
  • Oversee project support such as site security, recycling, temporary fencing, jobsite signage, dumpsters, trailer set‑up, etc.
  • Work with the material management department to ensure proper material receiving and control.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) with general knowledge of database utilization;
    Smart Materials and/or SAP experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent, and a minimum of five years’ experience in engineering and/or construction or equivalent work/field/military experience.
  • Experience as a Project Manager Supply Chain for EPC projects; experience in the Oil, Gas & Chemicals market with a proven track record of successfully executed projects is strongly preferred.
