Internship

Purpose:

The Drafting Intern will support the Engineering department by assisting with CAD drafting, documentation, and design-related tasks for existing and new trailer products. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a manufacturing engineering environment while developing technical drafting skills and an understanding of production processes.

Essential

Job Responsibilities:

* Assist Design Engineers with producing accurate and clear engineering drawings for existing and new products

* Update and revise CAD drawings based on engineering markups and production feedback

* Support the creation and maintenance of bills of material (BOMs) under supervision

* Assist with basic layout drawings and detail drawings using the company CAD system

* Help organize and maintain engineering documentation and drawing files

* Observe and learn how engineering designs are implemented on the production floor

* Participate in engineering and production meetings as appropriate

* Support special engineering projects and other duties as assigned

Essential Skills, Experience, and

Education:

* Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in:

* Drafting & Design Technology

* Mechanical Engineering

* Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field

* Basic working knowledge of CAD software (Solid Works required)

* Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings

* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

* Good communication and organizational skills

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment

* Prior internship, co-op, or technical coursework experience is a plus, but not required

Essential

Physical Requirements:

* Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. unassisted

* Occasionally pulling and pushing up to 25 lbs. unassisted

* Repeated reaching overhead

* Occasionally kneeling, stooping, bending, and turning at the waist

* Occasionally climbing ladders above 2 ft.

* Ability to wear required PPE when in production areas (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, etc.)

Required Work Hours and

Schedule:

* Summer 2026 (June 1st through July 31)

* Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
