Job Description
The Project Engineer applies expertise in process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering to develop high-quality documents, calculations, and drawings that support complex projects. This role manages multiple projects and technologies, supports procurement and document control activities, and provides technical administration across the project lifecycle. The Project Engineer develops new suppliers and supply strategies for thermal products and engages directly with clients to understand their most critical challenges, translating those discussions into comprehensive project solutions.
This position also contributes to pursuit decisions, proposals, and pricing, while building strong relationships with key industry partners, including vendors and contractors, to strengthen the organization's position in the marketplace.

Responsibilities
+ Apply knowledge of process, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering to prepare accurate and complete engineering documents, calculations, and drawings.
+ Manage multiple projects and technologies simultaneously, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
+ Support procurement activities by assisting with technical evaluations, supplier coordination, and documentation related to equipment and materials.
+ Perform document control and other technical administration functions, ensuring engineering documentation is organized, current, and compliant with standards.
+ Develop new suppliers and supply philosophies for thermal products to improve efficiency, reliability, and competitiveness.
+ Engage clients in meaningful discussions to understand their most critical issues and translate those needs into complete project solutions.
+ Capture detailed technical notes from client interactions and project meetings and incorporate them into project documentation and deliverables.
+ Actively participate in pursuit decisions, helping to evaluate opportunities and determine which projects to pursue.
+ Contribute to the development of proposals and pricing, including technical content, scope definition, and cost estimates.
+ Engage and develop strong relationships with key industry partners, including vendors, contractors, and licensors, to support project execution and strategic positioning.
+ Lead or support the formation of process engineering documents such as P&IDs, equipment datasheets, functional descriptions, submittals, project schedules, and document indexes.
+ Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, plans, and forecasts, and monitor performance against these metrics.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that water and wastewater treatment projects meet technical, regulatory, and performance requirements.
+ Utilize project management tools and software to track tasks, milestones, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Ensure adherence to engineering document control standards and management of change processes for engineering documentation.
Essential Skills
+ BS degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines considered with commensurate experience.
+ 7+ years of experience working with water and/or wastewater treatment plants and equipment.
+ More than 2 years of experience working and interacting directly with customers and vendors.
+ More than 2 years of experience developing project budgets, schedules, plans, and forecasts.
+ Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and MS PowerPoint.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD products for creating and modifying engineering drawings.
+ Experience in project engineering or project management within industrial or process environments.
+
Experience with wastewater and wastewater treatment systems, processes, and equipment.
+ Ability to read, develop, and interpret P&IDs and related process engineering documentation.
+ Strong mechanical engineering foundation, including equipment design and specification.
