Full-Time (M-F) On Site.

Role Summary/Purpose

DUS Electronics Laboratory Specialist works to resolve issues and problems in manufacturing, product development, and field applications. To accomplish their goals they use science, engineering and math, and the theories that accompany them. The Electronics Laboratory Specialist will work with all of facets of NGS Products Life cycle, & evaluation of existing and competitive products.

The DUS Electronics Laboratory Specialist is responsible for participating in pre-test reviews of Engineering Test Requests/Reports (ETRs) to express any concerns before assembly and testing is conducted. Lab technicians will work closely with project managers and/or test engineers before, during, and after completion of testing requirements to meet all internal/external client's needs

The DUS Electronics Laboratory Specialist must plan forward with a clear test strategy and remain focused on the project while maintaining a clear safety culture in their daily job functions. They must pay close attention to details while performing pressure tests, temperature test, accuracy tests, and environmental tests. The Lab technician must have EHS knowledge and be able to embrace at all levels of his job functions.

Reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager the DUS Electronics Laboratory Specialist must possess specialized skills in the domains of Testing, Qualification, Planning, Estimating, Ability to spot Safety Risk, EHS, and shall take full ownership of all associated projects.

A strong Testing and Qualification competency and skillset (Testing Philosophy, EHS, Process Development, Project Execution, Risk Management) is required for this key role.

Essential Responsibilities

* Read and understanding test procedures and drawings associated with testing requirements, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics, or mechanical units.

* Perform new product development testing and/or testing of existing products assigned and specified in the definition of test specifications.

* Support Design Engineering and Quality to troubleshoot product issues.

* Write new test procedures and revise current test procedures as needed.

* Establish and maintain a quality culture including defining work instructions, managing all required paperwork for each project including trace sheets

* Responsible for maintenance and calibration of laboratory testing equipment.

* Purchase supplies and materials as needed for testing.

* Establish and maintain a safety culture including creating safety concerns where adequate, perform safety assessments associated with test/project, and lead weekly Safety Toolbox meetings with all Lab Users.

* Provide feedback to the Lab engineers, test engineers, inspectors, and logistic teams, and lab manager

* Monitor daily tasks assigned via email or verbal by manger, engineers, test engineers, project managers and or upper management

* Identify and implement relevant advancements in testing technology - methodologies.

* Have responsibility for keeping the laboratory organized and tidy.

Qualifications and Required Skills

* A High School diploma, or equivalent.

* Formal training as an electronics rework specialist is a benefit. (i.e. IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-7711/7721)

* A minimum of 2 years of experience performing project life cycle testing of products.

* Electronics knowledge and experience troubleshooting, detailed soldering, and electronics rework necessary.

A minimum of 2 years of experience working experience implementing and supporting testing documentation.

* Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to resolve and speak to Engineering

* Excellent interpersonal/organizational skills and ability to work within a team environment (this person will need to develop team chemistry to drive results).

* Extensive analytical and quantitative skills; highly detailed oriented.

* Successful demonstration of pro-actively identifying and communicating tasks and following through; self-starter. Ability to work alone in a testing & qualification environment. Lead initiatives/projects…
