Talisman is supporting a well-capitalized independent power platform is seeking a Senior Director, Development to support the continued expansion of its North American dispatchable power portfolio. Backed by a major infrastructure investor, the organization is actively scaling its thermal generation capabilities and advancing multiple utility-scale power projects across key U.S. markets.

This individual will play a leadership role in the development and execution of natural gas-fired generation projects, supporting both strategic growth initiatives and active project advancement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development activities for utility-scale simple cycle, combined cycle, and broader thermal generation projects.
  • Manage projects through key development milestones including origination, interconnection, permitting, commercial structuring, EPC coordination, and execution readiness.
  • Support negotiation and management of major project agreements including EPC, fuel supply, interconnection, and offtake-related arrangements.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, commercial, finance, regulatory, and external stakeholder groups.
  • Evaluate project economics, market opportunities, and development strategy across multiple ISO/RTO markets.
  • Provide mentorship and technical/commercial guidance to broader development team members as the platform continues to grow.
  • Support strategic expansion initiatives tied to increasing demand for dispatchable generation infrastructure.
Desired Background
  • Prior experience developing utility-scale gas-fired power generation projects within an IPP, developer, utility, infrastructure investor, or related environment.
  • Exposure to simple cycle, combined cycle, reciprocating engine, or broader thermal generation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of project development lifecycle including interconnection, permitting, commercial negotiations, and execution planning.
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders including utilities, EPC contractors, OEMs, investors, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Combination of technical, commercial, and strategic capability preferred.
  • Experience with in lean or entrepreneurial development environments highly valued.
