Job Description
Job Summary
The Construction Manager will lead the planning, execution, and commissioning of a project converting a bitcoin mining facility into a mission‑critical data center. This role requires deep expertise in large‑scale Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, power redundancy, and the unique challenges of transforming high‑density mining infrastructure into an enterprise‑grade data center environment. Acting as the owner’s representative, the Construction Manager ensures the project meets strict requirements for quality, safety, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution
- Manage the full project lifecycle from design review through commissioning and hand‑off to operations.
Infrastructure Conversion
- Oversee upgrades to power distribution (PDUs), installation of UPS systems, and deployment of backup generators to meet enterprise redundancy and uptime standards.
MEP & Cooling Systems
- Direct the redesign and installation of specialized cooling systems (e.g., CRAC units) to meet the thermal and airflow demands of data center servers, which differ significantly from mining rigs.
Network Infrastructure
- Manage procurement and installation of high‑speed network systems, including fiber cabling and advanced switching hardware to support enterprise‑level workloads.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for GCs, subcontractors, engineers, designers, and vendors. Oversee contracts, performance, and deliverables.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Enforce rigorous QA standards and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations (Life Safety, NFPA, NEC, OSHA, etc.).
Risk Management
- Identify risks related to scope, schedule, cost, and safety. Develop mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders). Provide frequent, data‑driven status reports to higher leadership.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
