Overview

Engineering Senior Specialist – Customer Application for Steam Turbine & Expander. You will drive the technical direction of customer solutions, partner with Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, and product leadership, and support opportunities across O&G, industrial, geothermal, and energy-transition markets. You will lead complex application-engineering activities, optimize steam cycles, evaluate competitive systems, align sub-vendor packages, and guide customers toward effective technical choices.

You will build relationships, influence decision-making, and contribute to long-term business strategy while promoting technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing solutions for major BH customers.
  • Support leaders in delivering revenue commitments and develop budgets and firm offers for New Unit business, mainly focusing on steam turbines and expanders for Energy sectors such as O&G, energy-transition, and industrial applications, including geothermal opportunities.
  • Act as the technical reference point for the country for the complete GTE product portfolio and sustain the backbone for the product in legacy O&G as well as industrial opportunities.
  • Apply deep knowledge to tailor offered solutions to comply with international steam turbine standards such as API 612 or IEC, including balance-of-plant and auxiliary systems, to deliver competitive proposals for mechanical drive and power generation.
  • Leverage knowledge of the current IET expanders portfolio to tailor offers for new energy-transition opportunities.
  • Assess competitive system performance and perform hardware evaluations throughout the bid process; align sub-vendor proposals (surface condenser, electric generator, etc.) with customer requisitions and technical specifications.
  • Participate in risk assessment, deal-strategy reviews, and cost-out activities during proposal preparation; support bid reviews and proposal-clarification meetings.
  • Perform steam-cycle optimization for IPG, including renewable power plants, using software such as Epsilon or equivalent; establish economic evaluations of configurations to compare with project CTQs.
  • Maintain frequent interaction with clients to promote company products and solutions; develop and maintain documentation used within evaluation, analysis, and pricing groups to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide performance data and hardware definitions; work with Engineering and Sales to ensure proper technical support for proposals; provide accurate and timely data with direct interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate openly with top management about project status to support business-strategy evolution and increase hit rate on current and future projects.
  • Manage daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes; provide specific support to complex global projects; collaborate with Engineering and product-leadership teams to evaluate best technical and cost-effective solutions.
  • Share customer feedback with Engineering and product leadership to refine ongoing product development for energy-transition deals; support DTI activities to foster the future project pipeline.
  • Use problem-solving skills and document results of generated technical data; establish working relationships through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Travel as needed (full availability to travel worldwide for business purposes on short notice).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of engineering/technology experience).
  • Ability to identify project criticalities and set strategy and direction.
  • Experience with customer-specification reviews, proposal development, and contract development and negotiations.
  • Knowledge of the application and requisition process; knowledge of international standards such as API and ASME.
  • At least three years of experience working with international customers in engineering, marketing, sales, projects, or customer service.
