Ability to come up with solutions for complex business problems.
Responsibilities- Understand business (production operations) and deliver IT solutions to improve business functions.
- Serve as a liaison between Production Engineers and the software development group.
- Contribute to data analytics activities and visualization efforts (e.g., Spotfire as applicable).

BI, Spotfire, or Tableau - Experience with SQL or Python programming
An Oil and Gas company in downtown Houston is looking to hire a Solutions Engineer to join their Information Systems department, working within the Optimization group. This group is dedicated to technical project development that optimizes any piece of O&G production. The Solutions Engineer should come from a background in the field, and will be responsible effectively communicating between the Production Engineers and the software development group.
This person could be required to create visualization with Spotfire, or participate in data analytics. However, the main function of this position is understanding the business (production operations), and delivering IT solutions to improve business functions. Lastly, this person must be comfortable working on-site in Downtown Houston 5 days / week.
