Designer IV, Electrical (Oil & Gas) – Houston, TX

Bowman offers a role for an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team in Houston, TX.

Design and develop electrical systems for various projects, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to analyze project requirements, identify constraints, and propose innovative solutions to optimize performance.

Create detailed schematics, diagrams, and layouts using CAD software.

Participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting, and scope management.

• Provide computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, preparing drawings and schematics from specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches.
• Coordinate and consult with engineers or designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
• Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
• Support engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
• Present design deliverables to project members, cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements.
• Identify scope changes and estimate impact on effort and schedule.
• Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying deliverables, and estimating effort.
• Work independently.
• Prepare, review, and approve electrical equipment, conduit, wiring BOMs and design.
• Perform design reviews and engineering support.
• Utilize 3D CAD and general CAD tools.
• Participate in project planning and scoping.

• Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• Seven or more (7+) years of relevant experience.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills – written and verbal.
• High level of personal integrity.
• Strong relationship capabilities.
• Proficient in both written and spoken (language unspecified).
