- Pay Rate: $60-75 per hour
- Location: Houston, TX
- Duration: 1 year
- Work Mode: Hybrid - Mon, Tues, Thurs in office / Weds, Fri at home
- Oversee and manage the electrical and controls design of expansion and maintenance capital projects executed by third-party engineering firms.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and industry standards.
- Liaise with other functional groups within Project Execution, Operations, and Shared Services.
- Develop project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks, and supporting information related to assigned facility projects.
- Ensure facilities are designed according to regulations, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards.
- Manage the execution of design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule.
- Review and approve design deliverables such as drawings, technical reports, and material listing sheets.
- Review vendor materials quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend selections to the supervisor based on technical merit, price, and delivery.
- Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of the project.
- Incorporate lessons learned from past projects into future designs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team.
- Support and/or lead department initiatives as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 7 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and project management.
- Professional Engineer designation.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative and manage change.
- Capability of working independently, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
- Ability to resolve complex issues based on technical and business knowledge.
- Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team.
- Effective communication of technical issues and impacts to technical and non-technical staff.
- Office environment.
- Stress levels can be above normal as project work is deadline-oriented, highly visible, and numerous activities are conducted concurrently.
- Overnight business trips to the field may be required, usually requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
