ProjectSummary
Henderson Building Solutions is looking for a Commissioning Agent to join our Commissioning Team in Houston. The employee is responsible for developing, budgeting, managing, and executing building systems commissioning, retro‑commissioning, and ongoing commissioning projects. The employee will manage both client and internal project teams, serve as a technical resource, train staff, create schedules, and determine staffing requirements.
Key Role ResponsibilitiesProject/Program Management
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Create proposals based on RFPs or owner requests.
- Set up projects and folders.
- Coordinate scheduling of site visits with contractors and clients.
- Determine staffing requirements to complete projects.
- Manage project billing and budgets.
- Review owner project requirements, basis of design documents, construction plans, and specifications.
- Review drawings and maintain records of comments.
- Generate checklists and tests for equipment.
- Lead and attend commissioning meetings.
- Conduct site visits to complete pre‑functional test checklists.
- Interact with appropriate subcontractors.
- Generate site observation and issue reports.
- Review equipment submittals and maintain records of comments.
Commissioning Test Script Development (Functional Performance Tests)
- Create custom functional performance test scripts for each piece of equipment to be commissioned using approved submittals and design documents.
- Coordinate the review of these documents with the construction team prior to acceptance testing.
Acceptance Phase Commissioning Tasks
- Conduct site visits to complete functional performance tests.
- Generate site observation and issue reports.
- Produce final reports.
Business Development
- Create presentations as needed.
- Identify, secure, and manage relationships with outside organizations, potential clients, and owners.
- Maintain high level of client satisfaction through project execution to gain repeat business.
Education and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, Construction Management).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Commissioning certification(s) required (NEBB, BCxA, AABC, ASHRAE).
- Professional Engineering License preferred.
- OSHA training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
