Senior Engineer – Risk and Safety

Gexcon US are currently seeking a senior level Engineer in our Houston, TX office.

Gexcon US provides Risk and Safety Studies using the industry-leading CFD software FLACS, as well as Accident Investigation, Failure Analysis and Prevention, R&D and Experimental Testing, and software sales and support.

To be successful in this role, you must have the following attributes:

• Degree (MS preferred) in Chemical (or Mechanical) Engineering
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills
• Initiative – The ability to manage and control own workload
• Must be detail orientated, highly organised and a self starter
• Must be able to work under critical time deadlines and to reevaluate priorities while exercising discretion, diplomacy and good judgement
• Ability to take ownership of projects and multitask
• Flexible to carry out assignments anywhere in the US or abroad
• Knowledge of the process and oil and gas industry is a key advantage

In this role, major job responsibilities will include:

• Leading / Facilitating Process Hazard Analysis and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) s
• Interpretation of results and generation of reports
• Project based engineering support to existing clients in the offshore, petrochemical processing and civil contingency sectors.
• Will be expected to gain familiarity with dispersion and fire / explosion modelling using the FLACS CFD Software
• Assist with varied work including Quantitative Risk Assessments
• Perform state of the art analysis
• Write technical reports
• Travel to customer meetings both within the US and internationally
• Verbally interact and present to clients
• Support Gexcon US Marketing and Business Development efforts
