Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • This position is also focused on Mass Properties Analyses and Integration, assessing systematic mass reduction opportunities. This role will ensure accurate mass, center of gravity (CG), moment of inertia (MOI), and related data throughout the product lifecycle, informing design decisions, performance predictions, and verification activities.
  • Other system-level analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with performing mass properties calculations (Weight, Center of Gravity, Moment of Inertia)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, solid modeling applications (IDEAS, CREO or Solid Works)
  • Experience with programming languages and software tools (MATLAB, Mathcad, VBA, Python)
  • Experience as a key contributor for weight control and reduction efforts
  • Ability to support technical concerns with respect to weight reduction application
  • Ability to write Mass Properties procedures, practices, and/or specifications
  • Experience working on integrated product team, interacting with other engineering fields, technicians, subcontractors, and customer
  • Familiarity working in production environment, specifically with crane operations
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly techniques & processes
  • Prior spacecraft or aircraft testing experience preferred
  • Experience with data reduction and simple error analysis
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of systems thinking skills and behaviors
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members

Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
