Position Summary
The Sr. Project Controller is responsible for managing multiple aspects of project controls, including cost management, scheduling, and risk assessment for complex engineering projects. This position is responsible for providing high-level support to the project management team and ensuring all control processes are effectively implemented and followed.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and deadlines are met.
* Lead the development and maintenance of project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections. This includes engineering; as well as overall project budgets.
* Implement and manage cost control systems, tracking all expenditures and ensuring the project remains within budget.
* Prepare and analyze detailed project reports, including earned value management (EVM), schedule variance, and cost performance.
* Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to address project risks or performance issues.
* Lead project review meetings with senior stakeholders and provide advice on the project's financial health and schedule status.
Job Requirements
* Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work on large and small projects both leading and hand on.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management or equivalent
* 10+ years of experience in project controls or similar roles, with experience managing projects of various sizes and complexities. This is primarily engineering projects but also includes full EPC projects.
* Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and cost management techniques.
* Proficient in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
* Experience with earned value management (EVM) and risk management
Work Environment
This position primarily is performed from RICHARD's office located in Houston, TX. The work will mostly take place in an office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks. They may need to visit Client facilities, so it's important that the employee is in good physical health in order to travel, conduct field assessments, attend meetings at various locations, and perform other duties as required.
