Location: Houston, TX
Overview
We are seeking a MUD Engineer to join a growing municipal engineering team. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who wants to build expertise in MUD operations while developing into a client-facing professional.
You will support MUD clients, attend monthly board meetings, manage projects, and coordinate between technical staff and clients. The goal is for this individual to grow into independently representing the firm at MUD meetings.
Responsibilities
- Support municipal utility district (MUD) clients on ongoing engineering projects
- Attend and participate in monthly MUD meetings
- Manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously
- Coordinate between technical teams and clients
- Assist with bond applications, reporting, and contract processes
- Provide design support (not focused on plant design)
- Approximately 5-6 years of experience
- EIT certification or recently licensed (or near licensure) PE
- Background in land development is preferred
- Understanding of MUD operations
- Experience or comfort working in a client-facing role
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including boards and elected officials
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow into an independent, client-facing role
- Team-oriented and comfortable coordinating with technical staff
- Open to learning and adapting within a collaborative environment
- Salary range: $80,000-$100,000, with flexibility based on experience
