In this role, you will perform project or site expediting activities. You will contact suppliers, interpret production schedules and progress reports, prepare critical items reports, provide early warning of delays or supplier deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and assist with tracing missing material. Your initiative and corrective actions will help ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
This position requires part‑time telework per the company policy and requires at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and supervisor.
Major Responsibilities- Performs complex expediting activities on a project, in a support office, or at a jobsite to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and follows up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment.
- Interprets production schedules and progress reports to ensure they are realistic, that required activities occur on time, and that interface between activities is maintained.
- Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly.
- Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
- Participates in pre‑ and post‑award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates.
- Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project Logistics representative.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience.
- Specialized experience developed through job‑related training and substantial work experience.
- Ability to complete tasks in a creative, effective, and moderately complex manner.
- Work on difficult assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
- Understanding of the implications of the work and ability to recommend solutions.
- Minimal supervision with significant leeway for judgment.
- Capacity to complete difficult assignments independently.
- Ability to mentor less experienced team members and assist supervisors.
- Knowledge of Excel and Word; familiarity with the EBS ETA platform.
- Minimum 2‑year academic degree with administrative skills and basic knowledge of industrial equipment related to the mining sector.
- Basic or technical English proficiency.
