Entech Civil Engineers, Inc. (Entech) is searching for an experienced Bridge CAD Technician to support our Bridge/Structures Engineering Section located in Austin/Houston, Texas. To be considered for this position, applicants should have a degree in Computer Aid Drafting or similar field with 5-15 years of prior structural drafting experience. You will work in a dynamic collaborative environment with a team of engineers and CAD technicians, producing a variety of bridge, retaining wall, and structural projects under the direct supervision of a team leader with clear and specified objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Use Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, to support bridge engineers to create bridges, retaining wall and structural detail plans, and perform minor design work on bridge projects
- Develop structural details and plan sheets from sketches and written verbal instruction in support of Transportation projects, including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures
- Assist in preparation of quantities and develop geometry calculations
- Modify standards for use on projects
- Assemble bridge plans and standards for transportation projects
- Provide CAD guidance to less experienced staff and QA/QC developed sheets by others
- Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for roadway/bridge projects
- Work with engineers to develop 3D models using Open Road Designer and Open Bridge Modeler
- Research design options and Document findings in support of schematic work
- Coordinate assignments with project team and supervisor
- Work as a team player, assist other groups as needed and be ready to assist to meet project requirements
- Computer Aided Drafting Degree/similar field preferred
- 5-15 years of recent TxDOT Bridge detailing experience
- Proficiency with Bentley Micro Station Open Bridge software in full-time production capacity
- Experience with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Manual and TxDOT Bridge Standards
- Experience with HCTRA, FBTRA, and Harris County work is a plus
- Familiarity with Micro Station Connect Edition and GEOPAK is a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
