Agha Engineering, LLC. is seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Transportation design group in our Houston office located at 1080 Eldridge Pkwy Suite 1100, Houston TX 77077. (1+ Positions Available) $2,500 - $7,500 sign on bonus if application is received directly without 3rd party recruiter
Duties And Responsibilities- Design and plan production for PS&E (Plans, Specifications, & Estimates) on a wide variety of projects, including freeways, highways, tollroads, complete urban streets, hike and bike trails, and sidewalks. Provide design and plan production on a wide variety of projects with clients including DOTs, Countys, Cities, Toll Road Authorities, and Municipal clients.
- Perform quantity calculations
- Conduct permitting with Jurisdictional Authorities
- Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
- Assist Project Engineers and Managers as needed
- Review work of other professionals and technicians as needed
- Serve as a technical consultant in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed
- Plan and develop projects or design activities with significant impact on major company programs as needed
- Prepare/Review civil engineering scope of work for proposals
- Engage with clients to build relationships and be involved project related production meetings
- Perform other duties as needed
- Strong or intermediate operating knowledge of Microstation / Open Roads Designer (ORD).
- Basic knowledge of plan and profiles, cross sections, typical sections, striping and pavement markings (S&PM), sheet production using ORD.
- Knowledge of the TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, TxDOT MUTCD, AASHTO, and similar.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our culture.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited university preferred)
- Passed the FE exam and obtained Engineer in Training certificate. Or looking to take and pass FE exam within 6 months of starting employment.
