Job Summary

Environmental business in Midland, TX is looking for an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, or Geologist to join their team. The role focuses on the Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line and will be based in Midland, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Solutions Design:
    Contribute to design engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment:
    Follow HSE policies and procedures, identify and mitigate environmental risks, and act to resolve risky behavior within the team.
  • Waste Management:
    Lead waste projects and supervise areas of the organization to ensure regulatory compliance and effective waste segregation, reduction, and disposal.
  • Technical Troubleshooting:
    Support troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation:
    Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of web portals, software, and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
  • Engineering Drawings:
    Create engineering drawings to support communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats, working independently.
  • Project Management:
    Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Testing:
    Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Research:
    Conduct research activities to support others or fulfill role requirements.
  • Personal Capability Building:
    Develop own capabilities through assessment, development planning, training, coaching; maintain external professional accreditation where relevant.
  • Client & Customer Management (External):
    Support senior colleagues in managing client and customer relationships.
  • Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate and implement project permitting.
  • Interpret and evaluate environmental regulations.
  • Compile, reduce, and interpret data.
  • Understand remediation methods and operations/maintenance requirements.
  • PE or PG in Texas/New Mexico highly regarded.
  • 3‑8 years of experience in environmental consulting, including permitting, compliance, remediation, design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation, and project coordination.
  • Experience coordinating and managing multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work both within a team and independently.
  • Strong knowledge of NMOCD and NM SLO rules and regulations related to assessment and remediation.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.
  • Electrical systems and remediation system operation & maintenance.
  • Willingness to travel for field work required.
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.
Experience
  • General:
    Practitioner able to work unsupervised (13 months to 3 years).
  • Managerial:
    Basic experience coordinating work of others (4 to 6 months).
