We are seeking a Piping Designer to support engineering projects within petrochemical, chemical, and industrial facilities. This position plays an important role in developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective piping designs while working closely with engineers, designers, and construction teams to support successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in piping design, strong CAD skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.
Duration- 1+ year contract Pay rate - $45/hour on W2
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and revise piping design deliverables for industrial and petrochemical facility projects.
- Create and modify 3D piping models, layouts, and associated design documentation.
- Support project teams by preparing accurate and quality-driven design deliverables in accordance with company and client standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and other design disciplines to resolve design issues and support project execution.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into project deliverables.
- Identify and help resolve design challenges while maintaining project schedules and quality expectations.
- Support field-related design inquiries and assist with design changes as needed.
- Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field; OR High School Diploma/GED with relevant piping design experience.
- 3–5 years of piping design experience, preferably supporting petrochemical, chemical, refining, manufacturing, or industrial facility projects.
- Proficiency with Smart Plant 3D (SP3D) and related piping design tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understanding of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and industrial facility design practices.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing assigned tasks and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience supporting brownfield or capital project environments.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and best practices related to piping design.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and solve design-related challenges.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced project environment.
