The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Staff Engineering Technician will support the development of high‑quality engineering 2D/3D deliverables for Advanced Power Generation projects. The role focuses on creating and modifying electrical design drawings using Bentley Micro Station and other Bentley tools. AGI
32 expertise is preferred for lighting design.
- Act in a project engineering technician capacity.
- Support engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
- Create moderately complex design concepts and solutions applying foundational engineering principles.
- Use digital tools (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure quality and consistency of project outputs.
- Apply standards, codes, document control and BV policies.
- Review project requirements to determine appropriate deliverable formats.
- Apply BV Quality Program to deliverables, support continuous improvement.
- Ensure design inputs are compliant with codes and standards.
- Apply basic engineering principles in developing design concepts.
- Handle technical assignments and provide guidance to colleagues.
- Perform design calculations, material quantities, estimates, and record‑keeping.
- Review deliverables from others and maintain schedules.
- Program control systems or participate in plant start‑up activities as relevant.
- Coordinate with other design group personnel for information exchange.
- Support field activities and focus on internal client needs.
- Seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.
- Make decisions and apply judgment regarding deliverables.
- Diploma or Certificate preferred.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or a related engineering design technology preferred.
- Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, as required by applicable laws.
