Senior MEP Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a Senior MEP Estimator to join our team in Houston, TX, Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, Alexandria, VA, or any other location where there is an Atkins Realis office. This role is hybrid and requires office presence 3 days a week.

The ideal candidate will work on a wide variety of projects and sectors and must have Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) estimating experience.

• Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates
• Performs accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents
• Leads the development of conceptual and feasibility cost model estimates utilizing historic benchmarking information and industry experience in order to develop complete early stage cost estimate forecasting.
• Obtains accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
• Reviews and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics.
• Reviews historic benchmark cost information and highlights variances.
• Works with architects and engineers to develop clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimate. Develops relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
• Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explains variance cost drivers.
• Performs other duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary.

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related engineering field, plus minimum 7 years of MEP experience preferred.
• Provides high-level cost estimates for various cost studies and projects for Transportation, Industrial, Manufacturing or Commercial projects.
• Works independently with engineers to provide cost estimates and reconcile with contractor bids.
• Fluent in MS Excel, on‑screen takeoff and SharePoint document control.

Expected compensation range is between $120,000 - $150,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
