Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Avionics Engineer to join our Avionics team as a Systems Integrator. This role will focus on the system level design, development, integration, and testing of avionics systems for our lunar landers, lunar terrain vehicles, and other space technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in avionics, space, or flight vehicles, with expertise in areas such as power systems, flight harnesses, and electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities
  • Design and development of avionics systems, including flight computers, communication systems, navigation systems, and power distribution units.
  • Design and develop flight harnesses, including creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including systems engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering, to define avionics system requirements and specifications.
  • Integrate avionics systems and flight harnesses with other spacecraft subsystems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Support system‑level testing and validation to verify the functionality and reliability of avionics systems under various operating conditions.
  • Perform electrical analysis and simulations to evaluate avionics system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Optimize designs to meet stringent space and flight vehicle requirements, including weight, thermal management, and radiation tolerance.
  • Support the development and execution of test plans for avionics systems, including environmental testing (thermal, vibration, radiation) and functional testing.
  • Analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement design improvements as necessary.
  • Work closely with test engineers and technicians to ensure accurate and thorough testing.
  • Ensure all avionics systems and components meet industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NASA, ESA standards).
  • Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and presentations to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design changes, test results, and compliance records
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field;
    Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in avionics engineering, preferably in the space or aerospace industry. 4+ years if experience is directly related to Systems Integration.
  • Proven experience with avionics system design, flight harness design, analysis, and testing for space or flight vehicles.
  • Experience in electrical design and simulation software (e.g., Altium, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Strong understanding of power electronics, battery management systems, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for space and aerospace applications.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
