Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Build & Installation Technician to support the assembly and installation of custom automation equipment and robotic cells used in the manufacturing of electronic devices. This individual will be responsible for the mechanical build, integration, and startup of machinery, working cross-functionally with electrical and controls teams to ensure proper system functionality.

Responsibilities

+ Mechanically assemble and build custom automation equipment, robotic cells, and production machinery.

+ Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and schematics.

+ Install, align, and commission mechanical systems including conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pumps, and compressors.

+ Support on-site installation and startup efforts at customer facility.

+ Collaborate with controls and electrical teams during machine integration and commissioning.

+ Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical systems to resolve equipment issues.

+ Conduct preventive maintenance and support breakdown repairs on production equipment.

+ Work with components such as bearings, couplings, belts, chains, and lubrication systems.

+ Assist in system validation, testing, and performance verification.

+ Maintain accurate maintenance logs, build documentation, and technical reports.

+ Ensure adherence to industrial safety standards and proper maintenance procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience building industrial machinery or automation equipment.

+ Equipment installation and troubleshooting.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.

+

Experience with mechanical systems, automation equipment, and pneumatics/hydraulics.

+ Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machinery or industrial automation systems.

Work Environment

The first 4 weeks will be based in Hosur, TN, India, where the individual will train and learn the technology they will be building and installing in Houston, TX. During this time, they will work 6 days a week for 10 hours a day, accruing 20 hours of overtime per week. After this period, they will relocate to Houston, TX, for 20 weeks, working in an Apple contractor facility.

The facility in India is an engineering and manufacturing environment, while the Houston facility is focused on building Apple products.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
