Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of electrical/electronic schematics as needed by the IC&E Engineering team. Duties can involve some hands‑on lab work, and document writing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Use AutoCAD to create and modify electrical and electronics schematics for turnkey power generation solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to develop accurate and complete schematics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform quality checks on completed schematics to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of schematics and related documentation.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge related to drafting and AutoCAD software.
- Assist the IC&E team with lab equipment drawings and installation/testing.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ’s.
- High school diploma, skilled labor certificate, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in drafting, preferably with electrical or electronics schematics.
- 5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and related software.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and standards.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment.
- Experience with electronics test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
- Experience with Digital Multifunction Protection Relays.
- Experience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' electronics.
- Experience with Solid Works.
- Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and/or other relevant codes and standards.
- Experience in the electrical and electronics industry.
