Job Title: Field Service Engineer (BESS/Solar)

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract

Travel: Up to 50%

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer with experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar, and Power Electronics. This customer‑facing role will support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support of solar inverter and battery storage systems.

• Troubleshoot, test, commission, and maintain BESS and solar inverter systems.
• Diagnose battery, inverter, SCADA, communication, and utility grid‑related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and prepare technical reports.
• Work closely with customers, field technicians, and engineering teams.
• Support field service activities, site visits, and repair operations.
• Collaborate with R&D and provide feedback on product improvements.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company safety procedures.
• Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with a degree, or 4+ years of experience in:
• BESS / Energy Storage Systems
• Solar industry
• Power Electronics
• Field Service Engineering
• Hands‑on experience with troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Experience with solar inverters, battery systems, and electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, power quality analyzer, multimeter, etc.).
• Knowledge of SCADA systems and Modbus communication protocols is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and customer‑facing skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50%.

• Experience supporting utility‑scale solar or energy storage projects.
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, LOTO, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Mandarin language skills are a plus.
