Job Overview
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a UAV (Drone) Field Specialist to join our Advanced Inspection Specialty Services (AISS) team in Houston. This role offers a diverse career in remote and advanced inspections. The position requires a certified FAA Part 107 pilot and will travel at least 50% of the time.
Shift/ScheduleFirst Shift.
Responsibilities- Execute UAV projects and additional field duties as needed.
- Maintain UAV equipment in optimal condition.
- Compile and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and inter‑office communications in a timely manner.
- Perform flights using the UAV and monitor project performance.
- Document UAV projects and provide detailed feedback.
- Conduct internal and external inspections to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards (e.g., API 653, ASME Section V).
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, facilities, and customers; promote a positive work attitude.
- Ensure all Intertek and site safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Receive direction from the AISS Team Lead and collaborate with other AISS technicians.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of experience in oil and gas.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
- Must pass annual, recurring, and random drug tests (urine, hair, breathalyzer).
- Must pass background checks for TWIC card qualification.
- Able to lift 50 lbs or more.
- Experience working on offshore facilities such as drill ships, FPSOs, semi‑submersibles, and production platforms.
- Operate a vehicle safely in oil and gas facilities and field sites.

- Work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities.
- Detail‑oriented with strong time‑management skills.
- Communicate effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Possess fundamental technical and administrative skills required for the role.
- Customer‑focused and quality‑driven.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Experience with Pix4D, Bentley, Agisoft Metashape, or other UAV software platforms.
- Survey/GIS field experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with UAV Elios 2/3, DJI M300/M350, and point‑cloud dataset processing.
