The Survey Technician provides critical office-based support to field survey teams, helping ensure efficient project execution, data accuracy, and coordination between internal teams and external representatives. This role focuses on managing survey data, supporting field operations, and assisting with project coordination. This position works closely with field crews and clients to organize information, streamline workflows, and support construction activities. The Survey Technician will be a champion and leader of our company’s core values, while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Providing office support to field survey crews during construction projects
  • Managing, organizing, and processing survey data for accuracy and efficiency
  • Coordinating with field representatives, clients, and internal teams
  • Assisting with scheduling, logistics, and project documentation
  • Supporting QA/QC processes for survey deliverables
  • Preparing reports, files, and deliverables for project teams
  • Communicating updates between office and field
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in business administration, Surveying and Mapping, Geomatics, or related field.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet internal and external deadlines
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays for customer sites, regulatory meetings and other industry related meetings
  • Experience supporting survey, construction, or field operations
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro and Global Mapper
  • Experience collecting and processing data for construction stakes using GPS, robotics and conventional total stations, and digital/conventional levels, with the ability to select appropriate measurement methods
  • Familiarity with drone‑based LiDAR and photogrammetry outputs
  • Understanding of liability and risk mitigation in construction staking
  • Ability to adapt project design files into formats usable by survey crews
  • Strong commitment to supporting and collaborating with survey crews
