Associate Field Service Engineer

Job Summary

Entry-level Field Service Engineer at Emerson Power & Water Solutions. Support customers in renewable, fossil, and water treatment plant sectors by installing, testing, and troubleshooting control systems.

Location: Cranberry Township, PA or regional offices:
Tinley Park, IL;
Charlotte, NC;
Warren, NJ;
Houston, TX;
Riverside, CA.

• Provide on-site instruction to customer personnel and produce maintenance procedures.
• Direct installation, modification, and repair of control systems and equipment.
• Serve as engineering liaison, offering advisory assistance on customer and internal matters.
• Build relationships with project teams and contractors.
• Apply troubleshooting, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and planning skills.
• Deliver hands‑on training during factory acceptance tests (FAT).
• Maintain positive customer relations.
• Contribute to writing, reviewing, and revising field/operational manuals.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• Up to 80% travel, often one week at a time, primarily during outage season.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem‑solving methods.
• Analytical and creative problem‑solving mindset.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship not provided.

• Co‑op or internship experience in a technical environment.
• Hands‑on exposure to control systems, simulation tools, or related technologies.
• Comfort presenting ideas to varied audiences.
