Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Mobile Power Generation - Houston, TX

We are supporting a mobile power generation company seeking a Senior Design Engineer with strong hands‑on machine design experience to lead development of rugged, field‑deployable mechanical systems.

This role is focused on engineers who have designed and developed physical machines or heavy mechanical equipment from concept through production – not facility design, piping, or valve/specification‑only backgrounds.

The engineer will take ownership of full product development efforts, including concept design, detailed modeling, prototyping, testing, and production release. Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD platforms is highly preferred.

• Heavy machinery (Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, etc.)
• Off‑highway equipment, tractors, telehandlers, or similar systems
• Industrial mobile equipment or wheeled mechanical systems
• Crane or rigging equipment where candidates have designed mechanical systems (not just managed projects)

• Lead mechanical design of mobile power generation systems and components
• Own product development lifecycle from concept through release
• Perform design calculations, modeling, and mechanical validation
• Support prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements
• Collaborate with manufacturing and field teams to ensure reliability and manufacturability

• 7–15+ years in mechanical product or machine design roles
• Proven experience designing and owning physical mechanical systems
• Strong CAD skills (Inventor highly preferred)
• Background in fabrication, heavy equipment, or industrial machinery design
• Ability to lead design efforts and make technical decisions independently
