As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth.
The Process Safety Leader is a member of the Divisional Technical and Process Safety team and is responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) programs at the Beaumont and Houston manufacturing sites.
This position leads the Process Safety Engineers at both sites and ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA PSM and EPA RMP regulatory requirements. The role works closely with site leadership, EHS, engineering, operations, and technical teams to identify process safety risks, prioritize improvement opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies to strengthen process safety performance.
The Process Safety Leader also supports the development and advancement of process safety systems, standards, and best practices across the division to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant manufacturing operations.
What You Will Do- Lead the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of PSM and RMP systems at the manufacturing sites to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management
- Provide guidance on site Facility Siting issues and propose appropriate mitigation strategies
- Provide leadership and oversight to site Process Safety Engineers, including work prioritization, technical guidance, and professional development
- Collaborate with site leadership, operations, engineering, technical, and maintenance teams to identify process safety risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Lead and participate in process hazard analyses (PHAs), including hazard identification, risk evaluation, development of corrective actions, and tracking of action items to closure
- Lead and participate in third-party OSHA PSM or EPA RMP audits, develop corrective actions to address findings, and track actions to closure
- Identify and implement improvements to strengthen PSM program elements
- Monitor process safety performance metrics and develop initiatives to strengthen process safety culture and system effectiveness
- Promote a strong safety culture through training, mentoring, and engagement with site personnel
- Strong knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulatory requirements, with the ability to interpret and communicate PSM and RMP requirements to stakeholders
- Knowledge of facility siting principles and risk considerations
- Understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and associated process hazards
- Knowledge of risk assessment and process hazard analysis methodologies (HAZOP, What-if, LOPA, QRA)
- Experience developing Management of Change (MOC) documentation and participating in PHAs, leading root cause analyses (RCA), and leading pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in process safety management systems and culture
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science
- 10+ years of experience in EHS, engineering, R&D, manufacturing, or related field
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
