Engineering Senior Specialist – Customer Application for Steam Turbine & Expander Function: IET Equipment & Project

The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for BHI ET at the COE & regional level. In this role, you will be responsible for complex assignments with long‑term business implications, manage complex issues within the area of application engineering and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the technical direction of customer solutions, ensuring that every proposal reflects the highest standards of engineering excellence and commercial competitiveness.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, and product leadership to define optimal configurations, tailor solutions to industry standards, and support strategic opportunities across O&G, industrial, geothermal, and energy‑transition markets.
  • Lead complex application‑engineering activities, optimizing steam cycles, evaluating competitive systems, aligning sub‑vendor packages, and guiding customers toward the most effective technical choices.
  • Build strong relationships, influence decision‑making, and contribute to long‑term business strategy while promoting a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing solutions for major BH customers.
  • Support leaders in delivering revenue commitments.
  • Develop budgets and firm offers for New Unit business, mainly focusing on steam turbines and expanders for Energy sectors such as O&G, the energy‑transition market, and industrial applications.
  • Provide focus on geothermal opportunities that include steam turbines or expanders.
  • Act as the technical reference point for the country for the complete GTE product portfolio.
  • Sustain the backbone for the product in legacy O&G as well as industrial opportunities.
  • Apply deep knowledge to tailor offered solutions to comply with common international steam turbine standards such as API 612 or IEC, including balance‑of‑plant and auxiliary systems, to deliver the most competitive proposals for mechanical drive and power generation.
  • Use specific knowledge of the current IET expanders portfolio to tailor the most competitive offers for new energy‑transition opportunities.
  • Assess competitive system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the entire bid process.
  • Align sub‑vendor proposals (Surface condenser, Electric Generator, etc.) with customer requisitions and applicable technical specifications, ensuring quality, completeness, and timely responsiveness.
  • Participate in risk‑assessment processes, deal‑strategy reviews, and cost‑out activities during proposal preparation, defining the best technical solution.
  • Support bid reviews and proposal‑clarification meetings.
  • Perform steam‑cycle optimization for all IPG, including renewable power plants, using dedicated software such as Epsilon or equivalent.
  • Establish economic evaluations of selected configurations to compare with project CTQs.
  • Maintain frequent interaction with clients to promote company products and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes and information used within evaluation, analysis, and pricing groups to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and training.
  • Provide performance data and hardware definitions and work with Engineering and Sales to ensure proper technical support for proposals.
  • Provide accurate and timely data, including direct interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate openly with top management about project status to support business‑strategy evolution and increase hit rate on current and future projects.
  • Manage daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes.
  • Provide specific support to complex global projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and product‑leadership teams to jointly evaluate the best technical and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Be proactive in sharing customer feedback with Engineering and product leadership to refine ongoing product development for energy‑transition deals.
