Offshore Mechanic Job Summary
Looking for an Offshore Rig Mechanic for a 28-day hitch onboard a deepwater offshore production/drilling vessel operating in the Gulf. This is a hands‑on offshore mechanic role, not a “tool pusher helper” position. We seek someone with real offshore mechanical experience who can work independently around heavy equipment without constant direction.
Key Equipment- Drawworks and top drive support equipment
- Hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems
- Mud pumps, centrifugal pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment
- Winches, cranes, pipe handling equipment, and tensioners
- Diesel engines and auxiliary machinery
- Rig mechanical equipment tied into drilling and production operations
- PM systems, troubleshooting, breakdown repairs, and ongoing maintenance
Day‑to‑day work will include preventative maintenance, tearing down and rebuilding equipment, troubleshooting mechanical failures, supporting ongoing offshore operations, and responding quickly when equipment goes down. This is a fast‑paced offshore environment where downtime matters, so candidates need to be comfortable working under pressure and staying productive during long shifts.
Requirements- Previous experience onboard deepwater drillships, semis, intervention vessels, or similar offshore assets is strongly preferred.
- Up-to‑date resume
- Offshore medical
- BOSIET / FOET / THUET
- Rig Pass or Safe Gulf
