Location: Houston, TX Area
We are partnering with an industry-leading engineering and manufacturing organization to identify a Lead Product Data Management (PDM) Engineer who will play a key role in driving product configuration control, engineering data governance, and lifecycle management initiatives across a complex product portfolio.
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected organization that designs and manufactures mission-critical equipment used in demanding industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Product Data Management (PDM) activities supporting engineering, manufacturing, and service organizations.
- Own product structures, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and configuration management processes.
- Administer and optimize PDM/PLM systems, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to manage product releases, revisions, and engineering change processes.
- Support migration, implementation, and continuous improvement of engineering data management tools and workflows.
- Develop and maintain best practices for CAD data management and product lifecycle governance.
- Work closely with design engineers, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure accurate product configuration throughout the lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and system users on PDM processes and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Data Management, Configuration Management, Engineering Systems, or Product Lifecycle Management.
- Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault
. - Experience managing product structures, BOMs, engineering drawings, and change control processes.
- Understanding of mechanical product development and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to drive process improvements and establish data governance standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with in power generation, industrial equipment, rotating equipment, energy, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to PLM systems such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of ERP integration and engineering-to-manufacturing workflows.
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and product configuration management.
- Strong technical leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work across engineering, operations, manufacturing, and business teams.
- Passion for improving engineering processes and product data quality.
