Engineering Advisor – Customer Application Engineering
As an Engineering Advisor - Customer Application Engineering you will be responsible for developing creative and robust solutions and turning them into effective proposals for Baker Hughes' customer/client base.
Responsibilities- Preparing technical proposals for rotating equipment (auxiliary systems) and participating in negotiating proposed solutions, including technical solutions and costs.
- Preparing in a timely manner the most attractive technical proposal at first submission, including selection of rotating equipment and its auxiliary systems, using ITO tools and following ITO policies and procedures, and implementing innovative technology where appropriate.
- Leading techno‑commercial discussions with clients on configuration, performance, and economics while interfacing with the commercial/sales team.
- Applying product and quality policies, addressing and mitigating risks per Baker Hughes/BH procedures.
- Presenting the overall technical picture to senior leaders on how the proposal fulfills the overall strategy to win.
- Documenting effectively all communications, technical specifications, costing rationales, etc. to facilitate smooth handoff to the Order to Remittance team.
- Communicating across the direct organization.
- Connecting the dots across technologies and developing cross‑technology solutions; working on cross‑functional projects/teams to deliver technology solutions for the business.
- BE/BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Work experience closely with sales and commercial teams in creating/owning technical proposals for gas turbines, including design and selection of equipment.
- Experience in techno‑commercial roles such as DTI with at least 5 years of prior experience in rotating equipment or electrical equipment design and selection; experience in OTR/NPI teams performing/owning complex requisition/design activities.
- Experience in energy production for datacenter application.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem‑identification and solution skills; proven analytical and organizational ability.
