Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Designer to support our client, a large and well-established industrial engineering company. This role will support technical design functions by converting and cleaning mechanical component drawings using Solid Edge, with a strong focus on accuracy and standards compliance. If you bring expertise in large assemblies, Autodesk Vault, and Inventor, this is an opportunity to work on critical systems in a detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop large mechanical assemblies, including skids, structural frames, mold tooling, piping systems, and machine components.
- Create 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault for manufacturing and assembly.
- Collaborate with engineers on R&D projects, prototyping, and design for manufacturability.
- Participate in design reviews, offering feedback on assembly feasibility, safety, and cost optimization.
- Maintain accurate documentation and revision control using Autodesk Vault and related software.
- Coordinate with machine shops, procurement, and vendors during the fabrication process.
- Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) principles and follow company/industry standards for drawing accuracy and clarity.
- 1-2 years of experience in mechanical design and drafting, preferably in oil & gas, manufacturing, or industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor designing large assemblies.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, structural components, and industrial equipment layouts.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and customer specifications.
- Experience designing for fabrication, machining, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience designing in Autodesk Vault.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, ATEX, and IECX standards.
