Job OverviewThe Sales Engineer will be responsible for understanding company products and their application to sell to key customers in the industry. The Sales Engineer will have a strong background in municipal water systems and capital equipment sales and must have an engineering degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering. This role requires an individual who is self-motivated, technically proficient, and capable of building relationships with contractors, consultants, and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop relationships with consultants, contractors, and representatives in the municipal water and wastewater space to promote and sell products.
- Provide technical expertise & solutions to clients, ensuring products meet their specifications.
- Conduct on-site visits, product demonstrations, and presentations to municipal end users & consultants.
- Manage the sales process from initial contact through bid process and contract negotiation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and project management, to ensure seamless bidding and execution.
- Gain complete information for quotation requisitions including plans, specs & other requirements.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
- Develop sales forecasts & reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred, but other engineering disciplines will be considered).
- Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience in capital equipment and/or municipal water projects.
- Strong knowledge of contractors, consultancies, and procurement processes in the municipal water industry.
- Ability to travel extensively to meet with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Self-starter with a results-driven approach and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales processes is a plus.
- Up to 50% travel on-site with flexible work schedule
- Based in the Corporate office in Houston, TX when not travelling
