Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Repair Engineer to support rotating machinery repair operations within a repair facility environment. This role is responsible for leading repair activities, developing repair procedures, supporting inspections, and ensuring the mechanical integrity and timely completion of turbo machinery repair projects.
- Lead repair activities for rotating machinery including compressors, steam turbines, expanders, and other turbo machinery equipment
- Develop standard work procedures, project‑specific work scopes, repair instructions, and inspection forms
- Review inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for customer review
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, suppliers, and shop personnel to support repair execution and project timelines
- Recommend upgrades and improvements to increase equipment durability and extend service life
- Utilize drafting and CAD software to support manufacturing and repair drawings
- Serve as technical contact for assigned repair projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and safety
- Evaluate repair quality concerns through NCR processes and develop corrective solutions
- Interface with internal departments and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met
- Participate in team activities and assist in evaluating potential new hires
- Maintain a safe work environment and uphold company safety standards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university required
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience with turbo machinery overhaul, installation, and maintenance
- Experience with mechanical engineering analysis tools and software
- Proficiency with Solid Works, Ansys Workbench, and Poly Works preferred
- Knowledge of turbo machinery design, installation, assembly, and disassembly practices
- Familiarity with industrial repair standards and API‑687 preferred
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with inspection and quality control practices
- Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to pass pre‑employment drug, alcohol screening, and background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach overhead for extended periods as needed
- Ability to work in both office and shop environments
- Ability to safely work around moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and metal particles
- Must be able to travel to customer sites as required
