Overview
This position contributes to the successful delivery of engineering projects by providing advanced technical expertise, leadership, and project coordination within a multidisciplinary team. This role applies sound engineering judgment across the full project lifecycle, leads technical aspects of assigned projects, and ensures compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and project requirements. This position works with increasing independence, mentors and trains others, and interfaces directly with clients and agencies while progressing toward professional licensure.
Responsibilities- Provide technical design and preparation of plans for residential development projects, including grading, drainage, and utility systems.
- Evaluate site constraints and design alternatives to meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate permitting and regulatory approvals with local and state agencies.
- Lead and perform complex engineering analyses, design, and plan development in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, and design drawings with a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Apply advanced proficiency in engineering software, modeling tools, and design platforms; serve as a technical resource to others.
- Coordinate technical work across disciplines and contribute to project planning, scope development, schedules, and budgets.
- Direct, review, and mentor the work of engineers, EITs, and technical staff to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project standards.
- Provide technical leadership on assigned projects, including evaluating design alternatives and recommending practical, cost‑effective solutions.
- Coordinate directly with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to support project delivery, permitting, and issue resolution.
- Support construction or implementation activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assisting with construction administration as needed.
- Model accountability, sound judgment, and professional conduct while reinforcing a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
- Advanced proficiency with relevant engineering design and analysis software.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, codes, and regulations applicable to assigned service areas.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical work, mentor others, and manage priorities with minimal oversight.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact directly with clients and agencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while exercising independent judgment and accountability.
- Ability to work Monday– Friday, 8am– 5pm with overtime as needed.
