Position: Civil Project Engineer – Renewable Energy (Wind Generation)
Location: Earth, TX 79031
Hourly Pay Rate: $78/hr.
Per Diem: $178/day - 7 Days Per Week
Position OverviewThis Civil Project Engineer role supports large-scale renewable energy development projects, specifically wind generation facilities near Earth, Texas. The position focuses on civil engineering oversight during design and construction phases, with responsibility for evaluating project drawings, managing Requests for Information (RFIs), and ensuring compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and engineering standards.
The role requires strong experience in renewable energy or large infrastructure projects and the ability to work across multiple engineering, construction, and regulatory teams.
Project Scope- Two large wind generation facilities currently in the design phase
- Greenfield development and construction oversight for renewable energy infrastructure
- Civil engineering support across planning, design review, and construction execution
- Evaluation of engineering drawings, studies, and technical submittals
- Management of RFIs, Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), and design clarifications
- Review and interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages
- Manage and resolve RFIs and design clarifications with EPC contractors and internal teams
- Evaluate submittals, studies, and technical documentation for compliance with project requirements
- Identify and communicate variances to master specifications for internal approval
- Support construction activities by providing on‑site civil engineering expertise
- Ensure alignment between design intent and field execution
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
- Track, document, and maintain clear records of engineering decisions and project compliance

- Frequent coordination across engineering, construction, and regulatory teams
- Strong emphasis on communication, documentation, and teamwork
- Mix of office‑based planning, technical review, and field support during construction
- Hybrid role with travel to wind facilities near Earth, TX (County Road 65 area)
- Onsite presence required 2–3 days per week during construction
- Up to 4–5 days per week onsite when working on per diem
- Standard office schedule is approximately 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday
- Overtime may be required during active construction phases (not guaranteed or mandatory)
- Candidates should be open to travel and field assignments
- 7+ years of civil engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience in renewable energy or power generation projects (design or construction)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited preferred) or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of RFIs, NCRs, and contract compliance
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across complex projects
- Familiarity with construction and engineering documentation workflows
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification acceptable with PE pursuit
- Experience with utility‑scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects
- Background in large EPC or consulting engineering environments
- Project Wise (preferred)
