A growing manufacturer of custom electromechanical and motion-based solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations across product development, manufacturing support, process improvement, and operational execution.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader with strong technical depth, business acumen, and the ability to lead within a fast‑paced, process‑driven manufacturing environment. The Engineering Manager will play a key role in supporting both strategic engineering initiatives and day‑to‑day operational performance while working closely with commercial, operations, production, and product development teams.
The organization supports a variety of OEM applications across industrial, automation, HVAC, medical, and related technical markets, with a strong focus on customized engineering solutions and manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting product design, manufacturing engineering, and sustaining engineering activities
- Oversee engineering execution across the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through production launch and ongoing support
- Partner cross‑functionally with commercial, operations, supply chain, quality, and product development teams to ensure alignment between engineering priorities and business objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, product quality, process optimization, and operational scalability
- Support development and implementation of engineering standards, processes, documentation, and change management procedures
- Ensure engineering solutions are manufacturable, cost‑effective, and aligned with customer and operational requirements
- Work closely with machining, fabrication, assembly, and production teams to support successful manufacturing execution and troubleshooting
- Lead structured problem‑solving activities including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and production issue resolution
- Support prototype development, validation activities, and transition into production environments
- Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, prioritization, and engineering organization development
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, sustainability improvements, and operational efficiency enhancements
- Foster a culture centered around accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 7–12+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing, motion control, motors, automation, electromechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment environments
- 3–5+ years of engineering leadership or management experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machining fundamentals, fabrication, and assembly operations
- Experience supporting custom‑engineered products from concept through production
- Proficiency in Solid Works or similar CAD platforms
- Demonstrated experience working cross‑functionally with commercial teams, operations, manufacturing, and product development groups
- Strong structured problem‑solving capabilities including root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Understanding of engineering process control, quality systems, and production documentation
- Ability to balance process discipline with hands‑on operational execution
- Experience with motion systems, motors, automation equipment, or electromechanical assemblies
- Background supporting OEM customers and customized engineering solutions
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Exposure to industrial, HVAC, medical device, robotics, or automation‑related applications
- Experience working within ISO‑regulated or quality‑driven manufacturing environments
- Hands‑on involvement supporting production operations and shop‑floor troubleshooting
- Strong technical leadership combined with business and operational awareness
- Hands‑on engineering mindset with comfort operating in manufacturing environments
- Ability to solve complex technical and organizational problems while maintaining process discipline
- Collaborative leader capable of working effectively across engineering, commercial, and operations functions
- Proven ability to build teams, improve engineering systems, and drive operational excellence
