This position focuses on the design of structures supporting water purification and treatment facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable. The engineer will design a variety of structural systems, broaden their design experience, and collaborate with other disciplines while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
- Supervise Structural Engineers (both in the US and overseas) and work with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications.
- Lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects.
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFI’s, and reviewing contractor submittals.
- Perform project administrative tasks, coordinating work with architects and other discipline engineers.
- Lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values of up to $100M.
- Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies; assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Implement resource management strategy, including managing resources for a small group.
- Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program.
- Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
- Proficiency with non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program in the applicant’s home country or the country where they practice, or equivalent experience in engineering work.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support Engineer of Record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.
