Business Development Director – IoT Oil & Gas
Location:
Houston, TX
Experience required: 12+ years in the Oil & Gas exploration, production, and distribution sector.
Salary Range: $180,000 – $380,000 per year
Job
Key Responsibilities- Bring the company’s engineering services value to major Oil & Gas customers, including Oil Field Services, Oil Field Equipment, and Distribution clients in North America.
- Present, promote, and sell IoT and engineering services to existing and prospective customers.
- Build strong client relationships by understanding client needs and jointly identifying their biggest engineering challenges and preferences.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote engineering services and solutions, driving new business opportunities.
- Carry out market analysis and lead business planning and strategic sales activities; track sales and report status updates.
- Monitor client engagement levels closely, support business reviews, and implement measures to gain traction with clients.
- Drive awareness of IoT and engineering solutions with targeted clients through trade shows, research‑led thought leadership, client roadshows, and workshops.
- 12+ years of experience working with energy companies in Oil & Gas Exploration, Drilling, Production, and Distribution for design and engineering services.
- Familiarity with IT/OT systems used by upstream, midstream, and downstream segments.
- Experience selling services covering Digital Engineering, IoT, Cloud, Analytics, and IT/OT.
- Proven track record of closing services/projects/programs valued at $5‑10 million in engineering services.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong client network in the Oil & Gas domain.
- Experience developing sales plans for a customer portfolio and individual account plans.
- TCV (Total Contract Value) of deals closed, especially new deals with high deal conversion and win rate.
- CXO and executive connections established.
- Leverage of partnerships and alliances.
- Monetized solutions and services developed for clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Computer Science
