This is a genuine growth hire, offering the opportunity to work on a wide variety of industrial automation projects while remaining home every night.

If you're a hands-on Controls Engineer who enjoys both project delivery and solving real-world customer challenges, this role offers excellent earning potential, minimal travel, and a highly varied workload.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, program, test, and commission industrial control systems
  • Lead projects from initial estimate through design, implementation, startup, and handover
  • Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for a range of industrial customers
  • Respond to customer service and emergency support calls, troubleshooting and restoring equipment operation
  • Work directly with customers to manage project requirements and resolve technical issues
  • Support commissioning, startup activities, and system optimisation
  • Ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years' experience in industrial controls engineering
  • Background within a systems integrator or discrete manufacturing environment
  • Strong PLC programming experience with both Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms
  • HMI and SCADA experience, ideally including Ignition and/or Wonderware
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments and supporting equipment onsite
  • Ability to work independently and lead projects from day one
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline (experience may be considered in lieu depending on background)
Nice to Have
  • Robotics experience (FANUC and/or Yaskawa Motoman)
  • Experience with VFDs and servo drives
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Exposure to oil & gas, plastics, packaging, or broader manufacturing industries
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • Up to $165,000 base salary
  • Minimal travel (approximately 10%) with most work within a 50-mile radius
  • Combination of project engineering and field service work offering genuine variety
  • Growing business that has recently expanded into a larger Houston facility
  • Fast, straightforward interview process
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact within a smaller, growing organisation
