Senior Materials and Processes Engineer (ADV

We are looking for a passionate engineer to join our team to advance human space exploration and study the origins of the universe.
Responsibilities- Advising, guiding, and providing consultation on Materials & Processes (M&P) requirements for intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments.
- Review and develop hardware, analysis, operation, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, requirements verification, re‑flight assessments, and flight acceptance testing.
- Formulate presentations and present to program boards.
- Implement M&P system requirements into hardware design and develop verification and validation plans.
- Provide input to program/project specifications and ensure appropriate materials requirements are incorporated.
- Review project/program documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure M&P requirements are met.
- Assess vendor processes and define changes; provide qualification and acceptance testing recommendations.
- Provide inspection and manufacturing process support for human space flight system.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems) with 7+ years of related experience in Materials and Processes.
- Knowledge of materials and processes for space applications, including selection, corrosion prevention, electrical bonding, failure analysis, heat treatment, adhesive bonding, contamination control.
- Familiarity with metallic and nonmetallic material specifications, properties, and testing.
- Experience in engineering drawing review for M&P.
- Background in M&P for propulsion, crew compartments, environmental life support, thermal and electronic systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess priorities, identify technical risks, and work collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- MS or PhD in Engineering.
- 10+ years of related experience for spacecraft.
- Experience in material selection for electrical components, corrosion prevention, flammability, oxygen compatibility, contamination control, qualification, testing for NASA or aerospace projects.
- Experience directing or coordinating a technical team.
- Experience with human space flight system engineering and integration.
- Excellent personal and professional career growth.
- Flexible 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off) when applicable.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required; U.S. government background investigation required.
Office environment with possible inside or outside work. Regular attendance required. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods; may require lifting up to 25 lbs. Standard office equipment. Professional behavior and appropriate grooming required.
