We’re looking for an Estimator to join a well-established contractor specializing in the delivery of complex water infrastructure projects across Texas and the broader region. The portfolio includes everything from mid-sized municipal improvements to large-scale water treatment facilities and pump station developments.
If you have estimating experience in water infrastructure and are looking to step into larger, more complex work, this is a strong opportunity. You’ll be working on meaningful water infrastructure projects ranging from mid-sized municipal improvements to major treatment facilities.
What You’ll Actually Be DoingYou’ll be embedded in the preconstruction and estimating team, supporting pursuits from early concept through final bid submission.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for water infrastructure projects ($4M–$300M range)
- Performing quantity takeoffs from civil, structural, and MEP drawings
- Soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Building and maintaining estimate breakdowns for self-performed and subcontracted work
- Supporting bid strategy, risk evaluation, and value engineering efforts
- Working closely with operations, project management, and leadership during pursuit phases
- Reviewing plans/specifications and identifying scope gaps, risks, and constructability issues
- Assisting in post-bid reviews and handoff to operations for awarded work
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction
- Strong background specifically in water infrastructure projects
- Comfortable working on complex, multi-discipline estimates and large bid packages
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff tools
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven bid environment
- Up to $130,000 base salary
, depending on experience - Roughly 25% annual bonus
