General Overview of PositionArcxis is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in single-family detached Residential HVAC design and Engineering. This includes performing Manual J, S, D HVAC design, as well as designing duct layouts in AutoCAD by integrating with our in-house frame designs in accordance with ACCA and IRC standards. Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one stop shop solution to our partners residential design needs.
EssentialFunctions of the Job
- Job duties will be to produce Manual J, S, and D calculation and designs using Wright soft and final construction documents in AutoCAD
- Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise residential HVAC systems
- Generate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction
- Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD
- Work with design staff and drafters to complete project

- Compute dimensions from architectural plans
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Energy and building code compliance for mechanical systems
- Fluent in California Title 24
- IRC Residential Codes
- ICC International Codes
- Uniform building codes
- Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
- Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
- Self-directed, with good initiative and a great multi-tasker
- Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc…)
Education, Experience, and
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
- Preferred 3+ years' experience in Mechanical Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.
- Mechanical Design experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
- Mechanical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages.
Monday – Friday day shift, however additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
