Design Engineer - civil

Job Title

Our client is an engineering firm with over 25 years in the Houston market. They have a wide range of experience in site and land development for industrial, commercial, governmental and residential projects, including the increasingly complex coordination required with public agencies. Due to increasing growth, this firm is looking to add a couple of Engineers to their team. A great culture and work model.

This team works 9 hours days and enjoys half days off every Friday. Additionally, they work a hybrid model, with Wednesday and half day Friday mornings remote.

1 - 3 years of experience working on civil "utility designs" for roadway, waterlines, sanitary systems and/or natural gas lines. You will be working on natural gas lines however they will teach someone the work for natural gas BUT you should have sanitary, waterlines, or abatement experience, etc. Strong AutoCAD (preferably Micro Station). Please be prepared to present a couple of samples of your designs.

Primarily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, creating utility plan and profile drawings under the supervision and direction of a project manager. Proficiency in Micro Station is required. Strong utility relocation background with abandonment, and adjustments for water, sanitary, storm sewer, natural gas distribution and transmission experience is a plus. Candidates must be able to multi-task, have strong attention to detail, and manage several projects or activities at one time.

Knowledgeable of Micro Station (minimum Micro Station V8i) and/or AutoCAD. (Must bring examples of CAD projects) Strong work ethic. Must have a valid state driver's license and a good driving record. Should be a self-motivated individual and be able to work in a team environment and willing to learn. Excellent communication skills required both written and oral. Ability to solve problems and use good judgment.

Ability to develop knowledge of Company procedures and processes. This team does a lot of work with city projects, county projects, TXDOT, CenterPoint, and other utility companies working on risk assessment, line relocations, etc. A full benefits package including education reimbursement, 401K matching, and so much more.
