- The role of Electrical Designer is to support the Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOM as per customer requirements independently.
- The Electrical Designer will support the service personnel in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings. The Electrical Designer will be able to work on simple Engineering Work
- Request and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.
- The Electrical Designer will be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer s requirements and Industrial Standards they produce.
- The Electrical Designer is expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual information
- The Designer will support the goals and programs established by the management team. These roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
- Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer.
- Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.
- Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.
- Prepare and complete various electrical deliverable drawings and documents such as cable routing, panel drawings, panel layout, electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, single-line electrical wiring schematics, cable schedule, lighting location / layout / plan, instrument location / layout / plan, earthing details, I/O (Input/output) schedule, electrical termination hook-ups, etc.
- Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
- Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.
- Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.
- Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.
- Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.
- Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to
- Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
- Provide Lessons learned feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures
Educational:
Educational:
- Designer should be in possession a Technical Certification in the design discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Center
- Modules or related environment in similar industry.
- Ability to produce drawings / sketches to illustrate design / ideas.
- Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments (strongly preferred)
- High level understanding of the purpose of electrical system for facilities.
- General Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to:
- IEC International Electrotechnical Commission
- IBC International Building Code
- OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Administration
- NEC National Electric Code
- NFPA National Fire Protection Association
- Experience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modelling (BIM) software
- Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
